💯 Tobavarchkhili Lake ➖ Tobavarchkhili Lake, also known as the Silver Lake, is a high-altitude glacial lake nestled in the Egrisi Mountain range of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Georgia. Situated at an elevation of 2,650 meters (8,690 feet) above sea level, it is the largest of several alpine lakes in the region, including Kalalish, Didghlish, and Tsakatskarish.

🌳 Natural Beauty & Geography ➖ The lake is renowned for its striking blue and silver hues, which reflect the surrounding alpine meadows and the towering Tsashikibuli Peak (3,116 M), the Highest point in Samegrelo. The area is devoid of fish and trees, but alpine flowers and the occasional snow patch enhance its pristine beauty. The lake's average depth is 16 Meters, and it spans approximately 0.21 Km. It is fed by snowmelt, rainwater, and groundwater, with water flowing out through the Magana River.

🛤️ Hiking & Access ➖ Reaching Tobavarchkhili Lake requires a multi-day trek, typically starting from Mukhuri village. The journey spans about 75-80 Km. and crosses four mountain passes, including the Okare Pass. The trail is considered hard, with challenging terrain and several river crossings. The trek usually takes 5 to 6 days and is best undertaken between July and September when weather conditions are more favorable. During this period, the high passes are generally snow-free, and rainfall is relatively low.

🏕️ Camping & Accommodation ➖ There are no guesthouses or villages near the lake. Hikers must camp along the trail, with suitable spots near shepherd huts, such as the Natipuru hut. These huts offer opportunities to sample traditional Megrelian dishes like elarji and matsoni. Due to the absence of light pollution, the night skies here are perfect for stargazing.

🌄 Best Time To Visit ➖ The optimal time to visit Tobavarchkhili Lake is from Mid-July To Mid-September. During this period, the weather is more stable, and the trails are more accessible. Visiting outside this window, especially in late spring or autumn, can be risky due to snow-covered passes and unpredictable weather conditions.
